Drafts & releases
Editing an email and changing production email are different decisions. Notify keeps them apart, so anyone can edit safely.
Three states, two of them deliberate
| State | What it is | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Your working copy. Saved automatically a moment after every change. | Your workspace, in the editor and test sends |
| Released to the API | One exact version, pinned when you publish. | Everyone your app sends to |
| Listed on the marketplace | Optional. A version other workspaces can copy. | Other Notify workspaces |
Versions
Publishing creates a numbered, immutable version only when the draft has changed since the last one — publishing the same draft to the API and the marketplace yields one version, not two. The editor's Publish menu lists every version.
Rolling back
To undo a bad release, open Publish and choose Make live on an earlier version. Your app sends it from the next request, and your draft is untouched. To start editing from an old version instead, choose Open.
Stopping a template
Stop sending withdraws the API release: sends with that key are refused with 409 until you publish again. A template can only be deleted once it's neither live nor listed.
